Tantalising creatures

Today I grabbed my usual art material - a black gel pen and a little sketch book after months of feeling blocked and frustrated while I watched a fascinating BBC educational programme, The Blue Planet.

This week's series featured a previously undiscovered deep sea water creatures. These creatures live where no sun light penetrates, the pressure is so high that human scull would crush and they live on the deblis of dead fish and corals which fallen slowly from the surface of the water.

The results are, more quick mini art style, carefree piece of art. The pages are filled with spontaneous black curvy lines.

The 2 minutes drawings are then coloured with childrens' watercolour set.

I am blocked and don't know how to unblock me !

This work is still very much in progress, but people ask me that I should be posting more often... I must confess, I have been blocked for a long time and don't know how I can be creative once again. Any idea anyone ?

The Beauty of Spontaneity

My day at a local aquarium has been awe inspiring. My favourite everyday companion, black pen and sketckbook can create such a graceful, simple piece of art which I hope to inspire all visitors of this blog. I attempted 5 mins drawing to test my concentration and patience.

The graceful spontaneous movements of delicate featherly fins of little goldfishes are very hard to capture.

Other drawings can be viewed at Private View

English Summer

There is something very melancholic about English summer. People here are trying very hard to catch the sun while it shines upon them. I am not being lucky though, I can never catch the moment when the beach is suuny and bright. But then, I might just prefer the serenity of the gray rainy days.
